There are 2 types of hybristophiles:
1) Wants to save the object of affection from himself, and in some cases will defend his innocence. Ex: Doreen Lioy, who married Richard Ramirez in prison.
2) Wants to help the object of affection commit violent acts. Ex: Karla Homolka.
Type 1 is way more common, based on surveys. I personally know a lot of women who are attracted to killers, and the majority of them do not hate women.
