When I was a kid I literally thought I was the protagonist of life. I thought I was the most self aware and introspective being on the planet and everyone around me was an intelligent NPC but not main characters. This also lead me to believe that nothing truly bad could ever happen to me because I'm the main character.

Obviously I now realise how insignificant I am, and how autistic it was of me to think like this
