most characters have a limited knowledge of their own world so learning more of it through rp itself is perfectly fine in my opinion

Do you really expect this to work for a board full of NEETs and poor people? At best you'd have like four people who are willing to spend money for it then of those four three would leave after a month because you have to spend more money. Other games only worked on /r9k/ because they were free.
