this always happens to me for some reason. I always feel like there's something off about me that other people instantly notice but I can't detect. I always try to smile and speak with an upbeat tone but even then people look at me like I'm some sort of pariah. Same thing happened back in high school too. I guess people can sense the robot gene.

Not necessarily. The problem is, it's very easy to get desensitized to a smell. Your friends might be too shy to tell you you smell like ass and so they keep quiet.
I didn't release how badly I smelled until I moved back home and my mom, who's brutally honest, told be I stink. Even though I shower daily. It's not my clothes, I just have an offensive body odor. Cologne works OK to cover it up from my experience.
