Sadly, I have basically a nonexistent relationship with him even though I live with my parents.
We didn't really bond much when I was growing up. The only thing I really remember doing with my father was a week long river rafting trip when I was like 10. We would go on vacations every year (me, mom and dad) but it would basically just always end in fights. Also I would ask dad to do things with me and he would kind of just tell me to find my own friends to do stuff with.
He also never really taught me anything. I think riding a bike and swimming, but no real life tools. Maybe it was because he was 39 years old when I was born.
He also passed down his really short temper to me. He gets angry so easily at things, I remember I was afraid of him growing up. He would hit me and even hit my mom a few times. He threatened us with divorce for many years when I was a kid.
Really the only good thing he did was financial support. Me and my mom both don't really like him at all. I basically never say more than a few words at a time to him.
But I sure as hell didn't help matters becoming a miserable, angry loser, that made our relationship even worse. And then having him try to "help" my situation by constantly calling me a loser and asking if I like living this way.
I live with him but I pay him rent and pay for all my own shit like my phone and my own groceries
We also pay for Redskins season tickets together and go to Nats baseball games together. We both played sports at a competitive level. Only thing we differ on is he brings girls home and I've never been in a relationship
