My problem is more with bad breath. I had huge cavities earlier and got it fixed. However I still can not smile or talk to people while they are close to my face.

There is nothing inherently wrong with my teeth but however bad of morning breath I have as soon as I wake up, I assume my mouth smells like that in a large AoE in front of me all day even though I can never smell anyone else's breath.

You can still get braces or invisalign later in life, you just need to save some money and be willing to put up with the extra stuff in your mouth.

Hi OP, graduate dentist here, without looking at picture of your teeth and bite, your options would be ranging from fixed braces, invaslign, veneers, closing the gap with white coloured fillings.

Your teeth aren't supposed to be perfectly white. Healthy teeth have a yellow tint by nature. Whitening them destroys a lot of the protective enamel which when lost, never comes back.
You can get braces later as an adult or if you are really self-conscious of it, get Invisaline. A lot more dentists are switching over to Invisaline. However, make sure you got great dental insurance if you are an Americuck, as they'rr expensive.

Can anyone here attest to the effectiveness of Invisalign or other see-through braces/teeth straighteners? I could probably use braces but I'm concerned that walking around with metal in your mouth makes you look younger and that doesn't do you any favors in a professional setting

I need braces very badly. I have to get a crown, possibly wisdom teeth out, and cavities filled before getting them but I've finally taken the first steps towards doing so.

I had braces as kid that made my teeth nice and straight. I was supposed to wear a retainer until I was 30 but I accidentally ran over it with the lawn mower when I was like 15 and never told my mom. Not really bothered by them being crooked (still a lot better than when I was a kid) and the dentist says they're healthy, so w/e. I'm more bothered by the uneven brown splotches you can see on the front teeth. I don't know what the deal is with that. I've never smoked and I don't drink coffee or a lot of soda.

That gap isn't too huge. You could get cosmetic bonding to make each tooth look slightly wider to close that up.
Like other flaws it's not a big deal if you're alpha/tall. Young Arnold Schwarzenegger had a huge tooth gap and still got tons of pussy and film roles.

Yellow teeth can get be genetic or from the enamel being worn off by soda/candy over the years. Stains are a completely different matter and toothpaste and whitening kits with peroxides actually help with them...
