Pretty much this. Lived in the southeast my entire life, the greenery is beautiful but I'd rather be dry and warm.
I have saved money for two years.
I am buying either a small house or a mobile home in the desert.
Not so remote that I do not have Internet though. I am aiming for a town with a small population, maybe a few dozen.
My work can be done online. So I will have income to purchase food, Internet, health insurance, etc.
No more assholes in my life.

Check out the north or north east part of apache junction. It's ghetto and I'd never live there, but it's very cheap and close to everything.
