What do YOU think narcissism is? It is not mere arrogance or cockiness, it is a deranged LIE exaggerating one's value because accepting how they truly feel about themselves would destroy them. Robots are narcissistic as fuck, self-loathing is the bedrock of that personality package. Having the self-awareness to admit how you truly feel is of course better than not having it, but if that's how you feel, you are going to be narcissistic at life some of the time whether you want to be or not. To be clear, I'm not saying every single person who posts here is like that. And I didn't mean to suggest that it's NOT genuine despair lying at the core (though I didn't put it in those terms, that was one of the points I was trying to get across, amidst the many context-shattering typos I now notice I made up there). People rarely become profoundly fucked up and maladjusted to the world for no good reason at all.
Similarly, to get back to where my first comment was, naturally ugly women have good reasons to feel embittered toward others given the high price placed on feminine beauty; and it's true, they also were dealt a bit of a raw deal, and cannot entirely help indulging in some narcissism as an emergency-measure counterweight to the overall trend of low self-esteem, which is a state of mind human beings are just not supposed to fucking be in for long periods, however prevalent it may be. Just the less that anyone feeling like that, for any reasons, allows the narcissism to BECOME their new identity and source of pride, the better odds they will have as someday improving their lot in life by at least some amount. OK, yeah I do see some of the nihilism. I guess you're using in a specific sense... But I don't think most robots just think that it's all meaningless. Just that they can't achieve much of anything. And that what they can achieve wouldn't make much a difference.

There is a situation, that is very real but that is often being denied, that affects robots. It's that the low tier males are pretty much screwed. There's a surplus of males in our age bracket. And women will sometimes date much older men, so we have to compete with those too (and their resources). And even if it wasn't the case, women generally would rather avoid the low tier males altogether and share the higher tier ones (because they totally can do that). Most robots figured this one out and r9k reminds them constantly.
And many of us are the low tier males for sure. The lowest of the low. Some combination of unattractive, socially awkward, short, depressed, etc (on top of being losers), pretty much got us all out of the gene pool.

Of course people will become narcissists. Women fall into this much more easily than men, because women are designed to form cliques and to network with each other - so their opinions and decisions are more based on how others will perceive them, rather than how they feel about it, this is the only reason fashion industry is working, because women as a whole decide something is good, so women will buy it to fit in. And men will follow in order to attract women.
Also another thing that that increases the effects is that women were always only required to be and not to do - be pretty, be thin, be fashionable etc. while a man is required to do to be desirable.

My mom is heavily invested in taking dozens of selfies for her Facebook and Twitter every day. She's actually pretty much a diagnosed narcissist and will only talk to you if she needs something from you - like for example if she wants to feel better about herself.
I hardly ever take pictures of myself, let alone post them on social media. I think I have one picture of myself in the last year that my mom took and forced me to upload on Facebook (which she forces me to have). My life is pretty much 110% dedicated to getting a stable + good paying job right now so I can make my family's life easier. Right now I wagecuck for minimum wage, and put half my money into savings and the other half I basically spend on my boyfriend. I don't care though and prefer it this way because I'm ugly so I feel guilty and like I have to make it up to everyone by being someone they can use.
