That sounds like it wouldn't work and would just be way too awkward to position.
OP, just stick the barrel in your mouth since and aim upwards. Not complicated.
Not to encourage suicide but in all honesty a side blow to neck should get the jugulars, brain activity would cease quickly and they would bleed out fast as well.

Dependant on the shell used as well of course. If it was a deer slug then the good ole bong method should be fine.
