Do you genuinely suspect having an autism spectrum disorder? You should read about them, do some online tests and ask your parents about your childhood. I'm not saying that going to a doctor is a bad idea, but you should research for yourself if it fits and what traits you might have.

What do you mean by 'what happens then?'
It's up to you if you want to try getting a diagnosis or not. If you suspect having an ASD and it causes you problems, I don't see why you shouldn't get examined. There isn't any real "cure" to ASD's but you can get different kinds of support depending on your situation.
