I have stopped using the word "coding" in order not to fuel my ego. People who use the word "coding" are attempting to sound like some sort of mystical "computer druid" to those who are not necessarily skilled in the discipline of computing. As a result of my choice, I have started to use the phrase writing "customized computer functionality" instead of writing "code", or simply saying "I am CCF" (where the first C can either be "customized" or "customizing" depending on the context). I urge anyone who takes programming seriously to step away from this archaic dogma of using the word "coding" as if we're some how reading Japanese lines of text from the matrix or dealing with extra-dimensional entities. We are simply programmers and we should remember that. C'est la vie.

I work in a warehouse, loading a truck among other things. Last week I forgot to put a cage of freight on, and it had perishable bread on board. They had to send one of our guys all the way to fucking Katoomba with it. Then tonight I missed another cage for the north truck. Thank God it had no perishables in it. I'm pissed off because I'm known to be capable and reliable. I'm paranoid about becoming the clown that everyone looks down on. People are fucking nasty like that, and my pride is all I've got really. This is obviously an unlikely scenario, everyone has bad weeks.
