Who /podcast/ here?

I listen to them on my commute or when I'm doing chores. My favorites are probably:

>This American Life
>Radiolab
>Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast
>Invisibilia
>Giant Bombcast
>Giant Beastcast
>99% Invisible
>Embedded
>All Songs Considered
>Flash Forward
>Wait Wait Don't Tell Me
>Hidden Brain
>Planet Money (with the QT Zoe Chace, pic related)
>Serial

>tfw Radiolab used to be my favoorite but it's all about this fucking Supreme Court shit now

There's barely any point in my day when I'm not listening to a podcast actually. It's really taken over my life.

What about you anon? What do you listen to?
>>
Common sense
Left out
Jacobin
>>
Sleepycabin is/was good while it lasted
>>
>>29648877
What is it exactly? The website isn't very descriptive.
>>
>>29649057
it's just a bunch of washed up old newgrounds flash animators complaining about shit
>>
I always listen to music instead of podcasts but I'm a big fan of Let's Drown Out which is sort of a cross between podcast and let's play. It's almost like having friends! It's done by Yahtzee and his aussie m8
>>
I enjoyed thw biggest problem in the universe until it ended. I like myths and legends, stuff you should know, and the dick show.
>>
>>29648856
Radiolab is just trying to launch their spinoff. I like it but it is a much different subject matter than Radiolab. I'm 26 and I had to go through giving a fuck about the executive and then legislative branch before even paying any attention to the legislative this year after Scalia died. I heard previews about the next radiolab on npr when I was on my way to class and the next episode is about semen. You can revel in all the radiolab cum you want this week.
>>
>>29649057
Bunch of classic Newgrounds animators fucking around for an hour every week

Pretty much started as just an easy way for them to remind fans they exist in between the long stretches of no content, but became it's own thing (which is why they're ending it, sadly)
>>
99% Invisible
Theory of Everything
Freakonomics
Hello Internet
Pitch
Criminal
Song Exploder
Stuff You Should Know
This Developer Life
The Titanium Physicists Podcast

and

The Memory Palace
would recommend this one to everyone
>>
>>29648856
I'm gonna sound like a massive faggotsexual, but
>Alice Isn't Dead
>The Black Tapes
>Within The Wires (upcoming)
>Nocturne (I really need to catch up on this one
>Welcome To Night Vale (this one too)
>>
...AND I'M JUST CHECKIN IN ON YAAA
>>
I listen during my commute, the only ones I stick with are Bill Burr, WTF, and the super best friendcast, aside from those I just kind of rotate through what's well known
>>
Did anybody listen the The Biggest Problem in the Universe? If so do you prefer Maddox's new show or Dick's new show?
>>
Jason Stapleton Program.
>>
>>29649215
I'm also going to sound like a poofasexaul

>Lore
Lore is a podcast about the frightening history behind common folklore.
>The Black Tapes
Serialized docudrama about ghost and demon stuff.
>ABC Classic
Classic music and interviews with worldly people.
>Welcome To Night Vale
spooky small desert town tales
>No Sleep Podcast
Scary stories, radio plays
>>
>>29648856
Pretty much only listen to history

>The history of rome was fucking gold standard
I also like:
>the history of byzantium
>the ancient world
>the history of china
>the history of egypt
>the maritime history podcast
>the AskHistorians podcast (sorry for ledditing)
>the history of the crusades
>>
The fact that Hardcore History hasn't been mentioned yet is a fucking crime.
>>
>>29648856
>this american life
in todays show a rape apologist, a trump supporter and a guy who voted leave on brexit all publicly apologize so even tho they arent representative of anything we get to act smug and superior
also last years show about changing peoples mind was based on fake data but we are going to downplay it and try to salvage this by telling you it was successful somewhere else and dont stop and wonder for a second if we are being lied to again
>also my 4 year old is a jewish racist
>harrasing people into agreeing with us
>only ever showing one side
>>
>no based Tigerbelly, DVDASA and KGB
>>
>>29649994
I agree they get a bit pushy with their agenda. But if you're mature enough to handle opinions different than yours, there are great stories to be heard on their podcast.
>>
>>29650022
the guy is one of those people who think empathy always wins and no matter what im always right and i just need to explain to them why i am right.
I can put up with it as long as the whole episode isnt left ego strocking
but the girl my god, there was an episode where she kept coercing the person she was interviewing into stating something she didnt agree with, she pulled it 3 times and when it failed she outright brushed the testimony off and answered for her, it was one of the most disgusting things i have ever seen, i cant stand her at all
>>
>>29648856
>not giving a summary of what the podcasts are about

nigga I aint looking all that shit up
>>
>>29649992
Probably because Dan Carlin only releases 2-3 podcasts a year.

Don't get the one with Neil Degrassi Tyson .. it's just him making smart ass comments while people try to have a serious conversation. it's annoying af
>>
>>29650410
I do like Neil desu. I quite enjoyed the new cosmos show too. But I can see why what you are saying is a problem.
>>
The only thing I've had for years is most of the GB shit. All of the west but tuned out for some Austin topics on east.

>le hardcore history
yeah, I'd rather read.

In fact I listen to Japanese language podcasts to help with immersion instead if I run out of anything. Recommend listening to any basic language broadcasts of languages you want to learn.
>>
>>29650629
>In fact I listen to Japanese language podcasts
>>
>>29650640
It doesn't matter the language. Whatever you're immersed in more helps but keep that closed mind on and keep collecting awesome vp8 files ;)
>>
>>29650691
what's vp8?
>>
I listen to tabletop rpg podcasts

Just wasting time by listening to them, I just wish I wasn't dead inside

Yeah I don't want to wind up at your cartoon pedophile website thanks

>>29650825
I listen to them on my commute while eating. It's tripple tasking. I am super productive
>>
I listen to the Dr. Laura podcast. It's like a comfy nostalgic thing since my mom used to always have her on the radio when I was little. Plus Dr. Laura constantly BTFOs normies (mostly women) for being immoral shits, which is pretty entertaining
>>

I highly recommend it. one of the most genuinely funny podcast out there

Why would you listen to these chicks?
>Get fired by GameSpot

Literally battered wives

What the fuck does that even mean? you ignorant basterd, I laugh more than I could ever get mad. You're like a neanderthal.
>>
>>29650872
Different people run the company and they give them money for bullshit reasons. It's not so bad and I enjoy their coverage, not OP and I don't have similar views to them, but I'd rather see a lot of gameplay instead of supercuts of bullshit games. I've always been a good eye of footage I see and games I want to play. It's ok to respect a person if they don't share the same views as you.
>>
>>29650629
How's it feel listening to cuckolds ?
>>
>>29650838
>Yeah I don't want to wind up at your cartoon pedophile website thanks
But anon, you're already on a cartoon pedophile website
>>
For lulz:

My Brother, My Brother and Me
Uhh Yeah Dude
The Dollop
>>
>>29650909
You say different people run the company but it was a series of failures that caused Him to get fired. The fire wall between editorial was not only destroyed but trampled when they fired him for criticizing games. The fact everyone else left when he did, and they released official statements saying that he wasn't fired due to the review, when after his NDA was waived it was confirmed he Actually was. There's the entire culture that I resulted, as Jeff was made an example of, and any decently hyped game continued to get higher reviews from them on average.

And with all these flaws, he still comes crawling back to the company that abused him? Instead of any of the other hundred gaming sites?

Add in Doug Stanhope's podcast.

i like the old XFM radio shows with ricky gervais, steven merchant and karl pilkington

Radio War Nerd

I didn't know Jacobin sponsored a podcast

>tankies will never get the same treatment as nazis

At least "Jacobin reader" is a pretty good synecdoche for "intolerable up-market whiter-than-white SJW."

I dunno about War Nerd, but if Ames hadn't been so coercive with that girl, he wouldn't have done anything wrong.

Cool Games Inc.

From one of the brothers who does My Brother, My Brother and Me. They create a game idea based on random suggestions by people on twitter.

At first I thought it wasn't very interesting, but when they pitch the ridiculous game idea they create it's really funny hearing them try to make something really stupid sound good.

>>29649968
You'd really like the British History Podcast if you like all these:

http://podbay.fm/show/440985304

And I don't know if this is the history of china you're referring to, but it's basically the gold standard for an ancient chinese history podcast:

https://thehistoryofchina.wordpress.com/

Bill Burr is great:

http://www.billburr.com/category/podcast

Nes Punk is great for retro gaming discussion:

http://podbay.fm/show/705355841

If you want sort of an autistic pure hardcore retro gaming podcast, GC9X is a good bet. The newest show are on the bottom:

http://podbay.fm/show/594376523

And if you want to hear the creator of Community and one of the creators of Rick and Morty talk about how much he loves daddy-daughter incest porn, there's Harmontown:

http://podbay.fm/show/542228532

Nobody Likes Onions is a podcast by a comedian who is pretty cynical and harsh. I usually feel negative so I like his negative tone.

http://podbay.fm/show/329180750

The anime addicts podcast is pretty good but the new site layout is awful. The episodes where they just talk about Japan are interesting if you can find them in their new hideous site.

http://www.aaapodcast.com/

The Biggest Problem in the Universe and Dick and Maddox's new shows are pretty good. It would be nice if Maddox would stop acting like nothing happened and explained why they stopped doing their old show.

I really recommend podcasts for anyone here who is lonely. It just helps psychologically to hear people talk.

Is this about that rumor that he had sex with an underaged girl in Russia?

If so, he was making fun of American expats who went over to Russia to fuck children instead of introducing the magical capitalist economic system that was supposed to solve Russia's problems.

It's kind of like how everyone keeps saying Noam Chomsky supported the Khmer Rouge. People who hate them take things they say out of context just to hurt them. Everyone who knows anything about them knows they're lying.
>>
>>29654908
>"""""""children""""""""
uhm
anyway I don't have much opposition to what he did aside from the fact that he was so shitty to her
