It does nothing for me, except make me a bit shaky when walking and slow reaction, it does not dull the emotional pain, it's all still there.
It's throwing money down the drain, do you losers only drink because of media and social brainwashing? Because that's what the cool kids these days do to "let some steam out"?

Honestly, it provides a good avenue of socializing and it distracts me from the things I hate about myself by adding one. Also there are some just really phenomenal bourbons and ryes out there

For me I found I like the taste of beer and it serves as social capital to talk about with normies and a tool for context if they happen to 'invite me out'. But I do really like good craft IPAs, red ales and stouts. Its also just refreshing to have one before or after doing outside work, makes it a little more fun without being exactly buzzed.
But theres a difference between having literally 1 or 2 and just downing them to get drunk.
