I'm sure a lot of you might dislike your fathers for varied reasons.
You might not want to help me out and I get that. But my son has been acting distant lately. He hasn't responded to any of my texts in a while and I'm not sure what I should do.
I've been around 4C over the years and have occasionally found some decent advice on here.

Since my mom has custody 3/4ths of the time and she let me do whatever I wanted, (while my dad was very "clingy" and adamant about his time with me), it became less about "mom time" and "dad time", and more about "me time" and "dad time". Just make sure you don't smother him, teens really do just like to be left alone the majority of the time, but still remember to un-forcefully slide in some good dad lessons and don't make him pity you.

I get like that and I'm about to graduate college. It usually just means I'm busy and I'm bad at getting back to people over texts in general. I wouldn't worry about it, really. Must be hard for you though. I would wait a few days or something and call him, ask him if things are going well, etc. I think that's all you can really do man.

Honestly I think the quickest and best approach to find out whats bothering your son is to ask to talk to him one on one in person and then address the issue from there.
There could be many reasons why hes acting distant some are
1. Hes hiding something hes ashamed of you finding out.
2. Maybe he is still in the edgy teenager phase where they find there parents annoying, most of the time they'll grow out of it.
3. Maybe your overworrying and he doesnt think hes avoiding you?
I dont understand why he be avoiding you if your actually as caring as you sound in texts
Again ask these questions on reddit, and talk to your son in person and let him know you think hes acting distant and find out if there's a problem and try to fix it. Let him know you're worrying because you care
Communication can be uncomfortable but its the fastest way to solving an issue

If your son is in his teens, treat him like a man. It will show him you understand what hes going through (even if you don't). Give him respect and don't pander to his needs. Be his friend and give him advice when the time is right.
