I've never used Blizzards client for anything. I got into the game and found out there are like 10 different menus. The UI is not intuitive. I can walk from place to place (or ride my horse) and turn in really boring quests for 100xp, but I know there HAS to be more to the game than that. I am constantly spammed with guild request that I decline since I don't even know what will happen if I join a guild. I have no idea wtf people are saying in chat. I decided to give battlegrounds a go and had no idea what was going on.

Personally, I think the armor is the best in any MMO I've played. There are a huge selection of different styles to craft.
As for grinding, I don't really know of anything that would drop a set of armor, if that's what you're thinking of. It's really easy to be self sufficient, and the stuff you make is better than what you'll find.

I have 2 screens so I can browse 4chan as I camp them for hours. My addon tells me whenever an enemy player loads into game's line of sight. so I just 2 shot them at 1/2 health until they whisper me telling me I have no life and such. Then I camp them some more.

The UI takes a while to get into if you have never played an MMO, that's normal. The grind is boring if you have no one to play with or if you don't get into the story (some people like grinding, seems like that's not your case though).
The classic battlegrounds are:
Arathi basin: The goal is to control points in the map, for each of them you gain resources over time, the team that gets to 1600 resources wins.
Warsong Gulch: You basically get into the enemy's base to capture their flag and go back to your own base to retrieve it and gain one point, the first team with 3 points wins.
The guilds don't have much, join them if you want to get groups more easily, but that will probably not happen until higher levels. It's just a social group, it has it's own chat (type /g in the chat to talk in guild chat). According to the wiki there's also guild perks but i don't know much about them, you can get some XP boosts and move faster if you are in a high level guild (the level of the guild, not of the characters, again, no idea how this works).
