That seems like a pretty big blanket statement, especially considering that statistically, couples have more sex after getting married than before. My parents just celebrated their 20th anniversary and they're still more in love than anyone I know. I think there's a graph somewhere that correlates partner count and divorce rate, but it seems to me that those raised to wait until marriage to have sex (typically religious people) would similarly be pressured to find divorce more shameful.
