I'm honestly surprised because the docs and school psychologists have been saying since 1997 that it was Asperger's. Last year, a different psych said that I'm just a complex individual and indirectly told me to go with my gut feeling. I gotta get a copy of my MMPI 2 test from him.

And thus begins the journey of psychopathic introspection. I recommend it highly, just be aware of your surroundings and that people will be noticing you even when you think they can't hear you.
Start on wikipedia with a whole bunch of things ranging from random developmental disorders and the things that accompany them, sensory processing disorders, personality disorders, schizotypal spectrum (mendelsohnn's (sp?) is interesting,) etc.
If you go to see a psych, stay away from anti psychs except maybe wellbutrin. If you smoke, then you're SOL more or less. Take tests, don't do the slow way, because they will suck you dry for cash. The MMPI-2 revised is like 530+ questions, but it's worth it in the end to see 10 areas of your personality mapped out. Plus, you'll gain a better understanding of yourself without having to talk things through right away.
Genetic causes are also a great thing to look into.
That's about all I have, so I hope my advice works. I'm a psychology major with a year left to go so hopefully this helps other anons too. Otherwise, my advice is shit and limited to probably INTP(-T)'s.

As a caveat, I started college in 2011 as a chem major and changed to meteorology after 2 years of smoking weed and not studying. Oh, I also had to change schools. I still didn't study so now I'm in psychology cuz shit is just as easy to decode without all the studying effort.

I was on wellbutrin a year ago and it couldn't have been a worse choice for me. It did nothing to me so I increased the dosage with my psychiatrist's approval and it made me have some sort of seizure. EEG and brainscans pointed to a little bit of photosensitive epilepsy, but ever since I got off of it I was ok, not epileptic in the slightest

Yeah, I was diagnosed with aspergers when I was five, but then just last year my new therapist told me it was ADHD-I and OCPD. It makes way more sense, because I never had the lack of cognitive empathy or inability to look people in the eyes characteristic of autism spectrum disorders. I'm currently going through the diagnosis process and my current working diagnosis is asperger's, but I will know for sure next month. I'm actually going to see a therapist again in few hours.
I've been having some serious issues with socializing through all my life, and asperger's/mild autism could be the reason why. There's also other stuff that could easily be autism symptoms.
