You would be surprised how many there are my age and older here. I've talked to a few in my time browsing these last 9 or so years. They're often rather content with the state of their lives by that point, however, so they don't usually hang around r9k. Remember when you guys were kids and you thought and felt all sorts of ways that seem dumb or alien to you now? That keeps happening throughout your whole life. I learned the most valuable things and had the best times in my late 30's and into my 40's. I'm looking forward to what I'll learn in the next 8 years and onwards.

I never had a stereotypical midlife crisis as it's portrayed in most places. It's likely because I was so busy with work that I basically spent a few years trying my best not to break down. Didn't really try to change my personality, but I did lose it. I suddenly had no reactions to anything and didn't want to talk to anybody. Some remnants of that time still stick with me. I tell you though, I truly am envious of men in their thirties. It was the time I'd consider to have been my prime.

Thanks, my friend. To many, many more years for us all. My first introduction to any sort of computer was an Amiga 500 which my friend introduced me to. I became obsessed with the technology, found it incredible. Just kept buying the newest upgrade for years after. I still have my PC from 2004 around here somewhere though.

mid 30s guy here
always had really bad social anxiety in my 20s. did lots of drugs which got me out of the house. girls would just kind of show up in my life.
as soon as i hit 30s almost no friends definitely no gfs. women with highschool aged kids flirt with me. i just work and stay at home. sometimes on sunday morning i sleep in and get to dream before doing paper work.
the repetition is comforting to an extent. i'd like to buy some land at some point and actually have the means to do it.
