He asked this Stacy (her name's Marilyn) in front of like 30 kids to prom and she gave one of the worst possible rejections I've ever seen. I saw the tears swell up in his eyes. Two years earlier he told me he loved her (we weren't close at all, he just mentioned it passively in class).
So today they announce it in an assembly, and everyone starts crying. The girl who rejected him got up and said "he was MY FRIEND!" before her friends came on stage and hugged her.
