You must be Catholic, only Catholics follow the seven deadly sins seriously. Most other denominations of Christianity don't give two shits about the sins, it's primarily associated with Catholics. I suppose some non religious people follow the sins, from a moralistic standpoint or something I suppose.

Easiest way to get over the fear is to remember there are thousands of different beliefs. You're fucked anyway due to the chances of possibly choosing the wrong one.

The purpose of Purgatory is to cleanse people of their sins before they go to Heaven. Pretty much everyone slated to go to Heaven has to spend a shitload of time in Purgatory first.

I'm lazy as fuck, these days I sleep from 10AM to 6PM and I spend 4 hours a day smoking weed. Sloth is pretty much what governs my life.
I'm a fat fuck who eats junk food all the time. Gluttony it is.
I've been addicted to porn since I was around 11 or 12. Guilty of lust.
Despite all of the above, I'm actually a pretty succesful grad student in a prestigious school and I'm actually ashamed of how proud I am of it.
Luckily, I don't care one bit for money and it's virtually impossible to make me angry, since I don't care about most stuff and I tend to feel sympathy toward everybody. For the same reason, I don't commit envy.
So that's a solid 4 out of 7. At least I engage in my sins in a way that does not hurt others.
