Same here. I was placed in the talented and gifted program as a result of my reading/math test scores and an IQ test. They told me I could read at college level when I was 9 years old. I ended up doing jack shit in high school, became a pothead, and still eeked out a 3.0 and got into the big state school with some grant money for being a poorfag.
Makes me think what could've been had I dedicated all my time and effort towards studying instead of jacking off, shitposting, and smoking weed for hours a day.

I have no idea what my iq is, my dad's is 147 for whatever that is worth. He received more education than me and I did drugs, but I do try to learn things independently and got sober pretty young. I can't talk in terms of a number. Though I never had trouble in college despite stopping school in the 10th grade, my writing is also pretty fluid and acceptable when I write stories, poems, or articles. My vocabulary is fairly good. I had no trouble in economics class and was told by the teacher I should be an economist, and I'm good at philosophy. For whatever it is worth I found all the classes I took in college easy and a pleasure to learn while a lot of classmates struggled.
As far as why I am here? Wasting time with addiction, trauma issues, having my mental illness exacerbated by drug use and neetdom.
I guess I am doing better than most in some ways though. I do exercise, avoid toxic drugs, meditate, take an effective multi vitamin, mega dose omega 3, and try to exercise my mind. I also am a week away from having a trade degree in plumbing. Where I live that is lucrative. I am looking at 15 an hour starting, 25 an hour within the first few years, and 50+ an hour after 5 years when I take the master plumbers license. A lot of what you need to know for the master plumbers exam requires memory and math, and only the top 1/3rd pass. This is good, because most tradesmen don't have talent for that, and most aren't ambitious enough to try. The first 5 years are grueling, however, once you have the masters license you can work for yourself, have more autonomy, and the work is more issuing license and inspecting than laborious crap.
