It started to get very bad around 2012. Started to have sleep paralysis and hypnagogic/hypnopompic hallucinations after working for a few months after being a NEET for several years. These occurred during the middle of the day when I got back home. Woke up early for work and by time I got home I started taking naps. Looking back this disrupted my sleep cycle and was one of the causes.
Wasn't sure what was wrong so I quit my job and stayed home. Just played vidya, read, fapped, internet stuff, etc. This started my last agoraphobic phase where I didn't leave my house for a year and a half. For three months in I was fine being isolated, but then then the pain from my face (I had TMJ before) started to spread throughout my head and neck. My insomnia also became more severe.
I think it became bad during that NEET phase because I would lay in bed watching netflix. According to my sleep doctors it's bad sleep hygiene to do that. I also got tech neck according to a physical therapist by reading and sleeping improperly. All these bad habits combined with the social factors of before like not having friends and such created a bad outcome.
