Are you a competitive swimmer or something?
Swimming is a real sport I think
Is it competitive swimming?
That's absolutely a sport.

I'm pretty fast, and I'm waiting for a new season to come around to join a YMCA swim team, is that what I should be joining if I want to go pro?

OP here, it's competitive, as in timing myself

Anon no matter how much you practice you shouldn't get your hopes up about going pro. In middle school I was a very good swimmer, so good in fact I competed on a state level - I frequently was top three in my state in back stroke. After I went into high school, I started to struggle even competing at my high school level - I simply couldn't develop the same muscle mass as other kids. Technique only goes so far - at a certain point, it's up to your genetics
