Dealing with the percieved threat is far more effective than hiding from it, and sometimes your brain pattern matches real threats to fake ones. There couldve been a burglar on the other side of your door that you couldve barely subliminally sensed via hearing or electromagnetism or god knows what, and your brain pattern matched it to ayys.

Someone could be creeping through your house on a regular basis. Maybe a person, maybe an animal, maybe an ayy, maybe a 2d yandere waifu, who fuckin knows.
