I chose the wrong direction in life and am over 30.
I fell for the STEM meme but should have been an artist.
This is the end.

I fell for the "follow your dreams meme". Now I'm approaching my 30's and still working in retail.Seriously thinking about
going back to college to get a non-shit degree.
>>
im at the end of my comp sci degree, ive fallen for all the memes.

how the fuck do i go on im 21 what do i do

Be an artist you cuck
>>
>>29513258
Being an artist only works today if your art is also practical.

I know a kid who used to make beads in HS art class on the glass torches, now he sells his bongs for $1000+

In this case adding another meme can balance out the first. Get an MBA. Starting salary is over $100k if you go to a top 20 school.

Not working bullshit, I meant I would go for the degree and probably do research or some shit. Granted the field in colleges these days is mostly "muh feels", but still.

Same here senpai, except that I fell for the NEET meme and then one day I woke up and was the 30 year old uncle who still lives at grandma and grandpa's place and has absolutely nothing to show for it.

Now that I woke up from this bad dream I got to bee myself and make my dreams of becoming a musician/producer happen one step at a time. Step one is becoming a wagecuck again and setting up a vigorous studying/practicing regime.

>>29513939
Hi, same boat as you senpai.

All I can say is don't limit yourself. Nothing makes me sadder than seeing talented musicians who limit themselves to just one niche genre. I want to make everything from Black Metal to EDM to rap to country to idol j-pop to movie soundtracks. My ultimate dream would be to change pop music into something more complex than just the same 4 chords.

I've spent like 1/3 of my life complaining about how pop music sucks these days, I should do something about it.
>>
>>29513924
Fuck, that is so true.

I've never met a stable, well-adjusted woman who studied psychology. It was always women with crippling emotional issues who couldn't keep their legs closed long enough to think straight.

>inb4 "well-adjusted women don't exist"

It's like they never realized that they didn't want to STUDY to become a psychologist. They wanted to SEE a psychologist.

>I've spent like 1/3 of my life complaining about how pop music sucks these days, I should do something about it.
Stop complaining and make more music.

I wish I still had the energy to do music all day. Once my head locks up I can't do anything anymore. I've considered taking drugs to overcome this problem so I could write all day just like before.

To get back at what you said. I usually don't complain about other music unless I get forced to listen to something in one way or another. Otherwise I'm just making songs and I would advice you'd do the same.
You won't get any further by just complaining anon.
>>
>>29514079
>Same 4 chords

Did you just fall for the 4 chords meme? You do know there's like 7 chords in a key in western music.

I'd say pop music is the best it's ever been, way more interesting then anything guitar bands have done for the past 20 years. Bands like Radiohead realized being a straight guitar band was shitty a long time ago.
>>
>>29514086
yup. Feel like their thought process is
>Oh, psych, that seems easy
>I can understand everything wrong with people and help them ^u^
>All while also learning about if there is anything wrong with me!
Fucking degenerates.
As for >>29513982, if I remember right from what my last roommate said, most of the psych cancer ends up going away once you are done with undergrad work. Not all of it, but a large amount of it does go away, especially since most of them don't have what it takes for post-grad shit depending on the school of course
Either way, get a plan B
>>
>>29513258

Exactly.

Although my biggest problem isn't that I sit around complaining about Drake or Bieber or whatever, it's that I sit around all day POSTING HERE instead of practising the piano & other instruments or working in FL.

Tomorrow. For real. 100%. No more faffing about.

The Beatles are just as overrated and overplayed as Drake if not more.

Besides:

>You used to call me on my cell phone
>Late night when you need my love
>Call me on my cell phone
>Late night when you need my love
>I know when that hotline bling
>That can only mean one thing
>I know when that hotline bling
>That can only mean one thing

I took three geniuses to co-write that nursery rhyme.

If I'm able to, I'm making music. It's way more enjoyable than being here, playing games, watching anime, or anything really. I even used to put a single anime episode on hold for a week because I got an idea mid episode and wanted to put it down.

I just feel like it doesn't really matter anymore though.

kek we almost have the same schedule, for me it's 3-4AM and then 1PM.

My routine is always shitposting until 1am and then finish off with a bit of video games and youtube, so since it's 10 to 12 here I'm going to break the habit by making this my last post.

I'm going to make it happen tomorrow, starting now, hopefully you can too.

>>29514326
>I just feel like it doesn't really matter anymore though.

Do you put your music out there? Music helped me get through the shittiest of shit times in my life. Complete strangers' who are relatively unknown artists helped me turn my life around, you have the same potential as well.

This.

The guitarist for Queen was about to complete a PhD in astrophysics in 1974 before focusing on his music, he had two research papers co-authored at the time.

He then re-applied for his PhD and graduated 38 years later at 61 years old.

...and I'm sitting here wearing the same clothes as last week...

Falling for the STEM meme is much better than falling for the ART meme.

You don't need to go to college for art or music. You can still have a successful career in these fields without education. You NEED a stem education. Art and music are not profitable these days anyways. I'm saying this as a professional classical guitarist. I wouldn't suggest anybody do it, it's not even that much fun.
>>
>>29514491
This was at a time that music was an actually profitable field. Today, there are a million incredible albums online for free. People write and record awesome albums and post them online all the time.
