When I was at my worst I thought of killing myself every day. Unfortunately years worth of severe depression hasn't gone away completely so far. Some nights I lie awake and thing about the pointlessness of it all and I think about suicide but 99% of the time I am sort of happy and I don't think about it.

I don't think I "changed" anything, it was pure luck. I met my girlfriend by pure chance on one of those online "depression support" chatrooms. She happened to be in my country which is pretty rare so we got to talking. The first month I didn't even want to post my picture even though she kept asking and she already sent me hers. I didn't think she was that attractive at the time but I was lonely and desperate so I basically fell in love with her. Eventually I realized that nothing would happen if I didn't make it happen and force myself to go through the potential embarassment. I sent her my picture and within a week, we were basically sexting. It took her another week to convince me to Skype with her and things just kept getting better after that. Only a few weeks after that we met up at her parents house and had sex on the same day.
