I have a website that averages 1500 visits a month,with new content uploaded every other week or so. Its a webcomic,and I like to imagine that it has a small following,but the one time I tried connecting forums to it to increase traffic,the only people joining were ad spammers. Who would go to some 3rd world Viagra knockoff seller based on some poorly worded post in a webcomic? So I ripped out the forums by the roots,not being knowledgable enough to deal with it all.
I want to expand my user base,and maybe sell prints through devientart of certain works,and t-shirts and stuff with a convenient online producer. But would I need a Lot more traffic,or is it a pipe dream? Would banner ads be viable,at least on the first page? I am not sure if they generate money for the website owner at all...
