the problem is they didnt set themselves to make a good naruto show, they set themselves to make a good naruto prequel.
After sasuke and narutos fight ends and everyone fucks off they started working on the actual show while producing 200 episodes to cash on the hype, when time came to show what they had been working on it starts really strong with gaara vs deidara, we where told that gaaras sand jutsu was unstopable so seing the difference in power when deidara effortlessly beats it meant this is buisness.
After that it slows down again, it drags on and on and it never picks up the peace. We get told everyone is stronger but the fights get more and more boring and a heck of a lot less impressive.
I like kiler bee vs sasuke, it almost feels like the show is getting good again there but it doesnt
