If you lived in an apolyptical future, what weapons and tactics would you use to fend off giant birds. It's a desert environment with caves. Gravity is a bit stronger so you're a bit heftier, but the birds have stronger bones. Luckily they're a bit slower too. Plenty of reed-like materials. It's a settlement like society of many tribes. You're all at peace so trade and manufacturing can be economized.
