Transsexuality, if you like, in my opinion derived from talking to loads of mental ills over the internet and trying to explain myself to my parents, is that transpeople simply want to be able to self identify as the other gender at their core. This leads to them taking many actions to validate their self identification, such as acting girly, dressing girly and, well pretend to be female as much as they can. For some, simply having a female internet alter ego can give them the validation they need, for others they need to be recognized in day to day life as female, and for some, they need to have an artificial vagina created as that's their subconscious sense of what someone has to achieve for them to "feel" them as being female. Ofcourse it's never as simple as just have a fake vagina, or just dress female. This is an weird, deeply integrated "feeling" or intuition that they have, as does everyone about what makes anyone anything, completely removed from logical or reasoned thought.
Anyway, back to the point. This theory I proposed is removed from from the notion that gender roles are constructed because the internalized irrational sense that allows one to perceive themselves as male or female is created by the gender roles existing in their community, regardless of whether they're inherent or not.
I guess if gender roles didn't exist and both genders were completely the same then transsexualism would ceased to exist, at least according to what I just said. I'm not sure if I believe in it myself. but thanks for reading anyway.
