I can eat something or not, that choice could be more nutritious or less, and that's about it. The thoughts can be uncomfortable but it's not dangerous unless you let it hurt you. The lake is not burned by the roaring fire seen in its reflection.
Living life negatively works for me. I just am. I have my desires but unlike the Buddhist I'm OK with that. It's my nature to want things, so I get what I want. If it's against my nature then I shouldn't want it but basically I make shit up as I go and it just werks.
