They probably didn't correct for negative thought patterns as well. I remember reading something about correcting thought patterns reduced depression.

What, did you think I wanted to get better or something?

That's called Cognitive Therapy and it's pretty popular for people who are depressed, they claim if you change/reduce the negative thought patterns it will drastically improve your mentality/outlook on life and what not.

There's several books written by therapists and what not on fixing depression with Cognitive Therapy. I actually bought the "The New Mood Therapy" or whatever that popular depression book is called, it has a lot of techniques and things you're suppose to do everyday to help your depression but I'm too lazy to do them.

Things like writing out what makes you depressed and also they say like do something simply such as make your bed, clean your room and then rate how difficult it was do it. If it was rated low then the activity was simple, then rate how much pleasure you got out of doing the activity. That exercise is suppose to help with laziness and procrastination, so if you say "Oh I don't want to make my bed I'm too lazy and it doesn't matter if I make it anyway" well if you do that exercise in the book then it's suppose to make you CHANGE your outlook on making your bed, you see it as being pointless but if you change your outlook on it then it becomes a non issue.

They saw the same principle can be applied to depression or things that make people depressed.
