the russian movie come and see is based on stuff he did, the massacre of the village in the movie is almost exactly what he did irl. but really, he's just one of many, the eastern front was absolutely brutal to the russians, to the nazis the russians were subhuman filth and on par with the jews, so you can imagine just how bad it got. something like 80,000 villages in russia alone were burned to the ground by the nazis.
