White people living in Asia aren't called immigrants, but expats, and white people aren't familiar in Asia.

An immigrant is a foreigner wanting to come live in your country or already living there.
An expat is a person from your country who's living abroad, permanently or temporarily.
It depends on whether or not the immigrant/expat is a foreigner of from the same country as you. White people will naturally refer to their own as expats even though they might be seen as immigrants from the point of view of the country they move to.
