i went from 210lbs in september to 165lbs currently
i've been at a 1200cal diet with exceptions once or twice a week
you just fill your diet with more fruits and protein, not too hard
alternatively just eat just one meal across an entire day

Intermitent fasting, the eating once a day thing, is pretty great. It's convient to eat a whole days worth of food in 2 hours, and it helps you get into ketosis!

Great, I was eating less and exercising to help it along.
I'd go to the scales hoping the number would be lower.
I stuck with the exercise and started making gains, now I've increased how much I eat and hope to see a larger number.

Rather than working on the quantity, you should consider changing what you eat.
