but yeah blackness under the eyes is related to skin thickness in that area. it's purely genetic and there isn't anything you can do about it.

In any case, I think it's worth OP taking into consideration before dismissing it out of hand because "Oh well, nothing you can do about genetics". Especially because I doubt most robbits drink enough water.
