Not designed for fully automatic fire, after about a year of deployment, the full auto selector was welded to just safe/semi in most rifles. The reason they did this was to get they shitty BAR out of circulation.
Better marksman rifle by far, better in any modern engagement considering the large distances most firefights take place in. 16" barrel and SOCOM option solve the length issues and allow use in more confined and urban environments. Battle rifles were LITERALLY designed to adapt to the battlefields of the modern world.
