A little more than a year.

Well, I cannot say it has necessarily helped me or not help me. It has forced me to be uncomfortable and to face certain challenges involving other people. Some days are harder than others. I like being in an environment of which there are little to no women. It allows me to enjoy being away from that atmosphere a bit. Being said, female sailors here are absolutely terrible. The best thing about joining is that it allowed me to have something in myself I am proud of, even if it is not that big of a deal.
And I suppose if you are from another branch, talk about that too. It does not need to pertain only the Navy considering how few people on here are probably in the US military anyway.

I could become an acting officer during military service since I have a college degree.
I liked the regulated environment, the rest of officers were gentlemen, although it was clear that for a couple of Chads I was too pussy, but in general they appreciated my honesty.
