Do creep and rapist mean the same thing? When a girl calls me a creep is she saying I want to rape her? Serious question btw.

>creep
You're unattractive to her
>>
creep is synonymous with ugly, physically and/or personality speaking

anyone she doesnt want to have sex with who she thinks wants her is a rapist. therefore unatractive = rapist.

I guess robots are creeps, but we're not rapists.

A creep is anyone who "looks like a rapist".

Well, strictly speaking, no. However, the term "creep" carries with connotations that are reminiscent of "rapist". The creeper is one who creeps into one's personal space, a slithering, disgusting thing whose presence threatens harm.

Now, of course, the vast majority of the time when women use the term "creep" they mean "ugly" or "unattractive". So why use the term "creep"?

Our culture raises its children to look past ugliness, to value someone for their virtues rather than their appearance. When a woman is confronted with a man she finds repulsive, she feels visceral disgust at the thought of said man as something sexual. Nature compels her to despise him, and yet culture makes her feel guilty for doing so. So, when faced with this dilemma, how does the woman in question come to terms with her visceral hatred without feeling guilty?

The answer is imbuing the natural evil of ugliness and sexual undesirability with the moral evil of something like a "creep". In doing so, one absolves herself of any guilt she may feel in hating ugliness for its own sake.

This is the magic and the value of the term "creep". It's a modern day incantation that allows a woman to turn a monster into a devil. We might feel bad for hating the monster for his fangs and his horns, but no one feels bad about hating a devil for the evils those fangs and horns signify. In his infinite mercy and kindness, God may be moved to love a monster. But not even God, as good and as perfect as he is, loves a devil
