It was really really hard for me because I have a fucking stupid voice and was always way too quiet and weak sounding. Basically you just keep doing it and at first you'll sound stupid because you don't know how to use your vocal chords properly or use your diaphragm but you just keep doing it and forcing yourself to be loud and eventually your throat opens and you start pushing your voice through your diaphragm on your own. I literally learned to do this just by forcing myself to be loud. Then to learn the pitch it's just like learning any other instrument, you just play the song really slow and focus on what you sound like, record it too, and listen to see if you're on key. Eventually you get better and better at it and you'll be on key more often.
I started learning to sing a year ago, I have a recording of me doing a song from my first week, and if I compare it to a recording I made today it doesn't even sound like the same person. Sounds like a totally different person. The key is to not give up if you think your voice sounds stupid at first, because you're honestly just not using it properly and it's not even your real singing voice yet. Takes close to a year to find your real singing voice.

Just remember what you hear at first isn't your real singing voice unless you're miraculously a natural. So if you hate it and it sounds fucking weak and stupid, just keep trying and eventually once your vocal chords get stronger and you figure out how to open your through and use diaphragm you won't even recognize your voice. I mean most people don't like the sound of their own voice, but the sound of your voice is separate from whether or not it's on key or whether or not you are using your diaphragm. You can listen to a recording and judge whether or not you're on key and whether or not you're using your diaphragm correct without it being influenced by how much you like the sound of your voice. I don't like my voice at all but sometimes other people do so let them be the judge and just focus on the things you can control like pitch.

Instruments are all pretty straight forward to learn and very rewarding. Singing for me was the challenge because most people assume (incorrectly) that you're either born with it or not so they don't bother even trying if they don't like their voice when they first start.
Instruments on the other hand any one can learn. Regardless of natural talent, it's impossible to not get good at instruments after a certain amount of time. It's impossible to play piano for 20 minutes every night and not be able to entertain people with nice piano songs after just a year or two for example, literally impossible to not get good unless you just give up and stop doing it, so let that encourage you.

They sound cool anon but if you'd actually like to learn to sing I'd recommend just raw recording of your voice, no backing music or anything other than maybe one single guitar just to strum the base chords. You've got to hear your voice in the foreground with as little distractions as possible, and loud too so you can't hide anything.

that means your singing from your throat not your diaphragm. Like I was saying earlier, focus on being as loud as you possibly can at the start. Being loud forces you to use your diaphragm instead of just your throat, and then eventually once you get the hang of it you'll naturally use your diaphragm by default even when you're quiet.
