Same here, back in the day I would play The Witcher or Gothic for hours, or have a 10 hour Borderlands marathon.
These days I can barely bring myself to start a game and get bored after 5mins. Serious Sam is quite nice for a few minutes, though. Very old school and you can just start it without signing on, linking with facebook, buying to win... it's just a stupid game and I like it for that.

Yes, but it was unique. Characters populating the world were not generic clones and they actually did interesting things in the world. The school and clique aspect also gave it a massive edge on other open world games. I wanted to see a sequel with cliques you could join.

Couldn't make it through the first stages of Skyward Sword with the shitty Wiimote controls. I wish Nintendo would just put their games on PC and cross-console and give up on consoles. They haven't made a good console since Gamecube, but even that was inferior graphically to PS2 and Xbox. Their games are masterpieces though.

as much as I want to lie to myself and say skyward sword was good, it really wasn't. There were definitely some good parts, but halfway through the story it makes you turn around and go through the exact same levels again. Fi keeps crawling up your ass, pausing the game and telling you the most obvious, redundant, braindead shit.
And then there's the low resolution, no AA and 24-30 fps.
Final bosses were alright though.

I almost share this feeling in that I don't play videogames as often as I used to, but it's probably more to do with me constantly over thinking so many things every second of the days and being unable to focus on escapism or innocent entertainment in general than simply being bored of videogames.
I still wish to play my favorite series whenever I see new iterations released and miss playing with siblings, but I haven't played many of them in years due to lack of motivation to do so and/or lack of funds.
The last consoles I had were from the previous generation of systems.

I wish there were more games that interested me on PS4. I can't justify buying one right now. I know the whole argument of making enough money would allow you to justify the expense regardless, but I don't make a lot and would only be willing to buy a system if it has a lot on offer I'd actually play.
Essentially, I'm cheap as sin, but I'd make the effort to get one if there was more of interest.

Honestly just looking forward to the new Nintendo Handheld announcement. Mount and Blade 2 looks pretty good. Mass Effect trilogy is my favorite video game triology so looking forward for the fourth. I don't perticuraly like Zelda game, nor do I find the new one looking good, but it does have some sort of comfy feel to it that I wouldn't mind picking it up and playing. Also Deus Ex I would want to pick up and maybe no mans sky, but just maybe for that one. I'll also probably get the new pokemon sun/moon and than hate myself for getting it afterwards ,like always lol.
Mainly looking forward to the new Final Fantasy the most.

Etrian Odyssey is just a dungeon crawler RPG, really. If you ever played Yggdra Union, it's fair to say it's close to that. I like it, though outside of the Untold versions, you can't go in expecting much of a story for most of the series. As the series went on, its classes got more interesting along with them bringing in either new gimmicks or new mechanics. There are enough differences between each game that it doesn't feel like you're just playing the same thing again, thankfully. FOE enemies are also always fun to fight.
Neptunia's just a series of console references in a JRPG and breaking the fourth wall with more jokes. It's generally light-hearted, outside of mk2/Re;Birth 2 which tried to be a little more serious and hurt itself trying. Mostly I play for the characters, scenes and interactions, though the gameplay did get better since the very first title.
You can emulate Etrian Odyssey 2 and 3, or if there's a demo on the 3DS you can try that for Untold and/or 4? I'm not sure it has a demo, I just kinda assume it would because so many games have one on the 3DS eshop. If there is, you can get an idea of the series from a demo play, or emulating one of the two titles. EO1 isn't advisable, though you definitely can. I just can't look back at EO1 after the changes in 2 and 3 in the same way.
I don't really look forward to anything. I have so many games to play already buying anymore would just be a waste.
That being said, I am loving the fuck out of Trails of Cold Steel and the Tales of games.
