I will always shower since my hair feels like shit if I don't. But yes, showering too often is stupid, as it can damage your skin.

But now, I remember that I was going weeks without washing my waist length hair.
Washing once every 2 weeks seems to be the best for me.

Unless you've perspired profusely from manual labor or heat, bathing more often than once every other day is a waste of water and time.
You could also dry out your skin if it's really sensitive.
