I'd like to hear your toughts on it, also whether you think it's possible for polygynous structure to function properly in a civilisation.
Sidenote, do not mistake it with polygamy, likewise for polyandry. Also feel free to mention your gender.
At last, do you think there's any other "marriage" structure than the current norm, that could possibly function well?

In particular, polygyny involves one man and multiple women.
Whilist the opposite would be with polyandry with one woman and multiple man.
And presumeably polygamy is a free-for-all so to say.

I wouldnt like it. If a equality between men and women is real than that would mean women could go around being polyandry. It's horrible and it's killing the world right now. The power of a society always lies in the average young male. Give him a fresh, wet pussy and good food and he will build you the world. Take that from him and you get an angry young man that doesn't want to be a workhorse with nothing in return.

The driving force behind it was my wife, she encouraged me to get closer with her mother to make her feel better, and pressed that she was ok with us being intimately close. Apparently they'd talked and her mom for a good few years before had been pretty lonely and depressive, and when my wife pried it out of her that she thought I was a good and attractive guy, she figured to make something of it when we all started living together.
It's been two years now and we're all quite happy together. I wouldn't think of them as "tolerating" it since my wife is happy that her mother is happy and doesn't mind "sharing" so to speak. Even in the feudal societies though, the common peasants and workers still had a wife and family, more or less mandated by the church. Like the lowest dirt farmer could still reliably get a woman, even if she wasn't high quality, and they could still be happy together and loyal to one another.

This study takes into account all of human genetic history. Civilization only accounts for less than 10% of that time. After the neo-lithic revolution and the institution of marriage was established the rates for men and women probably equalized.

If I'm not mistaken though, that study was done over the entire course of human history, and was taken as an average across it rather than the norm at any given time. Modern humans have been around for like 150,000 years, so even if you have fairly standard and consistent monogamy for like a 1000 years through the dark ages and feudal times, it would be greatly offset by the still 100,000 odd years where we were basically barbarians, clubbing each other with rocks and the strongest guys stealing multiple women.

People are free to form and live in communities, even in polygynous ones. It would be better for the individuals living in those communities tho if there were laws to protect their rights, just like we have marriage laws to protect rights of two adults and their children. I dont see why marriage laws could not be extended to involve more that two adults.
