This is bringing back horrible memories. The amount of shit I had to go through to get on disability ... I attempted suicide twice in that period. It took me years just to get to the claim stage and once it was properly lodged it took another 7 months. By the time I was paid Centerlink gave me 8k in back payment -- that's how long I was waiting for it ... and even though that money has helped my life it still doesn't account for the years of suffering they put me through with bureaucratic bullshit that I wasn't equip to deal with.

If you go with a job employment agency you can get them to pay for your course. Depending on whether you want to do programming, networking, help desk/server administration etc. get them to pay for it and if you don't think you enjoy it try another field of IT and see if you can get them to pay for that course too. You can get lucky and get a job with a Cert 3 but I recommend you get a Diploma. I did service desk and I got promoted to system administrator in under a year.
