Things like loot council are red flags but as long as you have fun and can deal with the people its fine. If not, just get out. Raiding isn't worth it unless you enjoy the people you raid with.

I never played the harder difficulty levels because I'm a huge pussy, but on the lower ones I had decent success. Place your bases better than the AI does. go into the options and turn on the "base grid" - two bases can't harvest the same square. Min/max your resources, if you have a nutrient bonus, dedicate that square solely to maximum nutrients. Read the fine print, I remember there being stuff like a square producing four nutrients with just a farm, but going down to three nutrients and a mineral or two when you add a mine. Manage your own formers, its easy to do better than the AI. Expand early while playing defense. Try to stay out of wars, and if someone declares war on you (they will, eventually), just make sure each base has a good defender or two. Getting ahead in the tech tree is overpowered, if your defender's armor is two tiers above the attackers' weapons, you can shrug off pretty big assaults.

during the time Nost PvE was up, I leveled a human warrior and a nelf rogue, and on both I got up at off hours to grind on the slimes at Ironbeard's Tomb. And on the raptors and Whelgar's Excavation. With occasional shitposting in /world and an old action movie playing on the other monitor. Top comfy.

i honestly don't know if WoW truly went to shit, or if I just grew out of it and long for the old days. it seems like people still enjoy it and new players join all the time.
i think about time traveling back to TBC and wrath days just to enjoy it again. kinda sad, but those were the best years of my life.
