When class starts back in 3 months, I'm asking out my oneitis. Until then, I'll keep working to improve. What have you lads been doing?

Started exercising one hour a day. I read a book one hour a day as well. I also started my summer research program so I've been doing that a few days this week.
Today I cleaned my apartment and it looks much better. The next thing I'll start is cooking. I eat like shit because I'm afraid of buying groceries, this has caused me to gain about 15 pounds this year.

It's for school. It's pretty boring but I chose it because I wanted to work for this professor because he's a good teacher and I want to have a good mentor. I haven't started working in his lab but I did some community events for the program I'm earlier this week.

I'm not sure I fully understand it but when an oil well is drilled the bit is encased in liquid cement (I think to prevent collapse and possibly overheating). There are bubbles that appear in the cement which can cause problems for the drill. My PI is trying to discover if the frequency of oscillations of the cement can be used to determine patterns in the location of the bubbles.
Basically we vibrate a gel mold and photograph it using high speed cameras then measure the peaks of the gel. It doesn't sound very exciting but like I said I wanted to work for this professor.
