Aircraft mechanic

Most my coworkers are cool
It's satisfying when you fix things

I know that feel, I'm in technical support myself. In saying that if it's something you can't deal with there and then, you tend to feel like you've done wrong by the client.

why i switched fro bio to engineering. Rather kill myself now than be stuck in a basic lab forever

Commercial Pilot 30k a year. Pretty gud lifestyle, I get to drink and eat my way around the country and the company takes care of the hotel and rental car. Cell phone is my only bill to pay.
>>
I've been working in warehouses on and off for years, going to school at 27 for CS because I'm about to kill myself if I can't get out of this profession
>>
Programmer here.

It's an ok job, with good financial benefits.

Do you get to see family, or go on nice vacations very often?

So no h8, but you're nonunion I'd imagine?
>all across the country
Sounds like a major carrier, then? Unless you're not burger.
>>
I broke a lot of sticks today and got paid for it
Compare my life to yours and feel sad that you can't break sticks for a living
>>

>Sounds like a major carrier, then? Unless you're not burger.

it's obviously a regional airline like Mesa or Piedmont.
>>
I'm an entry level accountant. But one of those Excel monkey, cubicle ones. Not an auditor.

Solid money, people for the most part leave me alone (good for a robot), but highly pressurized as your shit has to be accurate.

I fly Aerial Survey in piston aircraft. Thats how I travel the country. Its the best I can do at the moment until I get to 1500 hours to fly for a regional airline.
>>
Radiologist. I make shitloads of bucks to look at pictures of peoples' insides and say what I think it looks like into a microphone.

>Aerial Survey in piston aircraft
That sounds like one hell of a lot of fun, I'll be honest. No passengers to deal with, and paid travel across the country. Also, pistons are just more satisfying to fly than a jet imho, unless you're flying something like a T-38.

When you're going into regional, go for a union carrier if you can! Union pilots don't have perfect lives, but it's ridiculous how many perks they have against nonunion pilots in major carriers.

Did you happen to go to college in that Florida university? Forgot the name but it's supposed to be a big college for pilots

Food Services Data Entry Specialist at Chick-Fil-A

Will attend UMaryland this September. Currently making $30/hr writing full stack code for a small firm that serves the business needs of an entire industry. So that's $4000 a month

Fuck you asshole, you'll never catch me in your stupid shit

Its awesome being a young single guy with company credit cards and an airplane assigned to me and a gig that pays to travel. All money earned goes straight into my pocket. No living expenses beside food.

>>29335317

Embry Riddle, fuck that. Costs like 200k plus for a degree and a Commercial License. You are talking 20 or more years paying that shit off with interest.

I worked full time and paid for my training locally and spent about 20-25k on my training. Also community college and online classes. Got all my shit paid for and have zero debt.

Retail slave. Saturday is my last day.

Pretty much playing piano full time at this point to try and get into a graduate program or get a certificate in performance. Barring that I might be of some use in the local scene before finding opportunities in bigger areas

>200k plus for a degree and a Commercial License
Jesus christ, I couldn't agree more with your "fuck that' mentality. Tbh all the professional union guys I know have a military background, but I know there's better ways into the field than paying 200k for someone to teach you what an aileron is.

Aviation's being shilled hard in some circles as a field with little competition in our generation (assuming you're in my twenty-something age group) so I hope you do well my friend! Research salaries, senority, union-v-nonunion stuff, but if you keep on this and especially if you have a commercial multi-engine license, then with a shit-ton of determination I'm sure you can succeed. My dad spent years making (after travel and other work expenses) barely above minimum wage working for airlines, and now he's making somewhere around 150k annually just to fly a plane and he loves his job.
