How much chance to stop caring/fix it? Seems like anomie to me; would advise devoting yourself to something, though I can barely advise for that since I'm having the same problem and am too commitment-shy to do so

That is actually some genuinely good advice. One of my biggest issues is that I am surviving for the sake of surviving, i.e. only doing things that will get me a little more financially ahead.
