Does anyone else get depressed from watching certain TV shows? After I'm done watching, and when I re-watch them, I feel so crushed by how shitty my life is in comparison. For example:
Parks and Rec
>ywn have an office romance with a girl that looks like April
Community
>ywn attend Greendale and go on various misadventures with Britta, Annie, Abed, and Pierce
I will literally never have these things, I hope I go into a coma and dream about them

sometimes i get depressed from watching stories where guys with shit lives go on adventures and win the girl
> Watch Ergo Proxy
> Philosophical, dystopian future, great character design
> Main characters kiss
> Instantly drop it
Was a pretty great show, but I can't handle stuff like this.

Those are shows where everyone is happy all the time and problems get solved in 40 minutes. Nobody gets that
>>29292351
>>29292360
>you will never, EVER, have a girl look at you like this
>>29292408
this is part of what makes it so depressing anon, I'd even settle for just the greendale study table banter and keep the rest of my shitty life
>>29292408
But the whole world they create is just so fucking comfy, I want to live in those worlds more than anything

I just watched bebop for the first time and desperately want to die.
>>29292552
I've never seen it, what's so nice about it?

Good luck anon, hope you wake up in bebop
This one for two reasons
1. I've always wanted to be a surgeon but it might not happen and that worries me
2. im madly in love with that Elliot

Great taste, anon. And OP. I rewatch Community and Scrubs once a year.
Shows usually help me feel better. It's reality show that make me depressed. I know it's fake, but something like the bachelorette depresses the shit out of me. All of these guys within 2-3 years of me who have careers and friends, presumably have been with numerous women in their lives. And i'm a lonely robot living with my parents. I feel like less then shit. Less then garbage.
When I watch Friends.

Yeah. Some shows and games really strike a nerve for some reason.
>ywn have a tastefully introverted, non-superficial, intelligent, and warm gf
>ywn experience freedom from the grasp of society and government
>ywn experience (event) ubiquitous to socially capable youths
>ywn float along the current of the Mississippi river with your nigger pal Jim
>ywn meet anyone like (character) from (media)
etc.

Do you listen to the Harmontown podcast? The guy who created Community hosts it. He's really funny sometimes.

I loved Community, at least the first 3 seasons when the whole cast was there and Dan Harmon's crazy genius was involved. Why can't I share hilarious misadventures with a group of misfit friends who frequently clash over exaggerated idiosyncrasies but at the end of the day love each other unconditionally?
It's a sad statement about humanity. All we really want is a community, a little village where we know everyone, where we belong. It's the environment we evolved for, dammit. Instead, we're atomized and alienated, anonymous, living in boxes, not even knowing our neighbors' names. So lonely.

No fucking shit, sherlock. Anyone who has watched the show could figure that out.

All I Do - Logic
>the music video reminds me of when I was doing well in college, had friends, a scholarship, and was about to have a great career. Then I had my first psychotic episode and ruined all of my chances.
>>29293315
Personally I'm rarely interested in who makes the shows I watch. And I don't know how popular podcasts are here since people rarely talk about them, so I thought I would describe it a little.
It's kind of funny you had that snippy response and are a fan of his since he's always complaining about how critical his fans are.
>>29292313
wow that show looks so stereotypical and predictable, real cookie cutter shit, lenny would not approve.
>mr. handsome chad in the forefront, of course
>hot blonde stacy and a cute sweet brunette beta-bait, covering all tastes
>sassy fat black woman
>nerdy asian guy with a clip board, totally smart xD
>the cool charismatic black guy, more athletic and raw masculine than the goal oriented chad
>''eccentric xD' wise old man
please tell me how right i am
>>29293445
You're dead wrong, my man. Try watching the show instead of being an edgy contrarian.
I mostly like sitcoms where the characters are losers and/or bad people, so I try to avoid this feel

Not even close. Not even a little.
Out of all the incorrect assumptions you made, that's the most off.
