Is the Marine Corps really a place for a robot to reform himself?

Any military training will reform you. Personally I recommend something more cushy like the air force or navy, but if you want the prestige of being a marine, understand that you are literally the first ones into any conflict. You are the most expendable soldier in the armed forces.

Here in Britbongistan to be a Royal Marine I think you need regular service time first. Though our Royal Marines are supposed to function more like commandos and there are a lot less of them, whereas I think the USMC is supposed to be more of a jack-of-all-trades force.

You'll literally have no long lasting regrets if you do, because if you're smart enough to use 4chan you can be successful in the military as long as you have the ability to handle people yelling at you (essentially the same as your parents or a mentor chewing your ass out) and being physically worked a little.
The physical standards in the marine corps are among the strictest and the only one with pull ups AFAIK, but honestly with the amazing food selection the average servicememember has, you have no excuse. Sweating and grunting along with 300 other people feels a lot easier than like, being at the gym by yourself.
On a personal note, the military helped me quit drinking along with generally forcing you to learn how to treat people both formally and informally, professionally and otherwise just through meeting so many different people and from representing the United states when you wear the uniform. Thankfully most of the places you go, people will give you the modicum of respect most robots never get, and it really helps with confidence and stuff.

You flinch and freak out for the first few shots and then after that it's more of a "not this shit again" response. If you get deployed in Tatooine then chances are you won't even be getting into huge firefights anyway. Usually you just get potshots taken at you and wait for the chair force to steamroll everything. The only real nerve wracking thing is the driving, I know guys who still swerve around every piece of trash in the road lel
